After a 10-year gestation, Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez's dark fantasy comic book series finally makes it to the silver screen with Netflix at the helm
Our team in Montréal recently had the pleasure of working with Netflix on season one of Locke & Key, which launched on Netflix on 7 February.
The show is an adaptation of the hugely popular comic book series from Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, which debuted back in 2008. The series follows three siblings who return to their ancestral home to find it littered with ancient and magical keys that give them access to mystical abilities.
Solely delivered from our Montréal studio, our work on Locke & Key included tricky comp sequences and seamless DMP work produced by our expert environment team.
The show was creatively overseen by VFX Supervisor Filip Sustek and produced by Becca Scott at Outpost, who comments: "Locke & Key was an exciting show for us as we’re big fans of the graphic novels and we were thrilled to be a part of bringing these to life. The show was also one of the first to be lead by our Montreal team, who rose to the challenge; creating some beautiful environments and assets across several episodes."
Locke & Key is the second show we've delivered from our Montréal studio following See for AppleTV+.
